What are Claims?

Claims gives you visibility into disputes, fraud reports, and funds-return requests raised against transactions on your accounts — for example, a request by an institution to return funds that its customer reported as fraudulent.

Monitoring claims lets you respond within the deadlines set by each network and keep track of the risk profile of your operation.


How it works

  1. When a claim is raised against a transaction on one of your accounts, it becomes available through the Claims API.
  2. Retrieve the claim details: the disputed transaction, the reason, and its current state.
  3. Respond to the claim within the applicable deadline (for example, providing evidence or accepting the funds return).

Common use cases

  • Answering a funds-return request raised by another institution.
  • Monitoring fraud reports against your accounts.
  • Feeding dispute data into your own risk and compliance workflows.
